Love swimming but hate the damage it does to your hair?

We love summer. Great weather, longer days and trips to the beach.... BUT even when there's so much to love about this season, if you're a curly girl, you get hit by the frizz, shrinkage and that's even before you've hit the water!!

So, can you enjoy the water while keeping your hair protected and damage free? Yes, you can. With these 2 easy steps you can protect your hair from chlorine or salt water damage, without having to carry your whole bathroom to the pool or beach.

You will need: a good leave-in conditioner or oil, clean water and a clarifying shampoo.

Step 1: Before swimming in a pool or the ocean, protect your hair by soaking it in clean water and applying a leave-in conditioner or oil.

When you wet your hair with clean water first, it becomes less likely to absorb chlorine or saltwater, which can otherwise dry out and weaken your strands.

Step 2: After swimming, rinse your hair immediately with fresh water and follow up with a clarifying shampoo to remove any residue.

Rinsing is important because:

  • Chlorine and salt can cling to hair and cause buildup or brittleness
  • Rinsing immediately prevents long term drying effects.
  • A clarifying shampoo helps to deep-clean any leftover chemicals or salt

So there you have it, 2 easy steps to keep your hair protected and damage free.
